Dental Insurance

Dental Insurance Options
There are a plethora of different UK dental insurance options to choose from. On average, costs can range from £8 to £30 per month. Some plans allow you to keep your own dentist; while others provide emergency and non-emergency coverage. For those who travel, you may want to consider a plan with a worldwide option.
Simply Health Dental is a popular option. The company offers two plans: core and plus. Both plans cover NHS and private dental treatments. The plan also allows the insured to keep his/her dentist. Simply Health Dental covers everything from a polish to a crown. Plan highlights include:
• 100% cash back on dental maintenance
• £10,000 payment for mouth cancer
• Emergency dental care for accidental tooth damage
• Resident children cover up until 18 for only £2
Tesco offers another dental insurance option. They also offer two different plans: a core and premium option. The core plan covers NHS services only and doesn’t include hygiene polishing. However, the premium option is extremely comprehensive. Plan highlights include:
• Remedial and restorative treatment
• No-claims discount of up to 25%
• Worldwide dental accident coverage up to £10,000
• Hospital cash benefit
Purchasing dental insurance is an important decision. Many things are not initially covered. Be sure to read the policy exclusions. In addition, check with NHS to find out if you are exempt from any of those dental costs. In most case orthodontics and cosmetic dentistry are not covered. However, dental insurance can still be a good deal and save you a lot of money in the long run.
